I’m finally back in touch with my friend who hosted PI.net up until last month and will be able to make a backup of the MySQL database for Wordpress and move it over here.
The path I’m likely to take is to save the handful of posts I’ve made since old server went down, do a full import of the old database so that I will recover all old posts, comments and registered users. The newer posts will then be copied back over.
No specific date is set, but RSS subscribers, if suddenly the whole PI.net feed gets wonky or says it’s fully new (again) I apologize in advance.
Update: Nov 9, 2007
Disregard, there won’t be any database imports. Turns out the old hosts deleted the entire VPS along with all the files when they were in their recovery mode so… all my old stuff is officially gone. I think I might be able to forcefully use Google’s cache on a post-by-post basis to track down the old posts that I’m missing currently but it will take some time. So… if you’d registered previously, please do so again. I’m sorry for the inconvenience…
