A few days ago, Turbine pushed Book 14, Patch 1 to the live servers. The patch contained numerous bug-fixes and tweaks, including changing the lock cooldown on the new instanced Battle quests in Angmar from 6.5 days down to 2.5 days, with an increased barter item prices to balance it out.

However, some of the fixes also involved the Summer Festival. Many people intentionally didn’t get the Lithe Festival Horse because they didn’t like the looks of the blanket. The patch toned down the blanket’s color saturation level. Many didn’t get the music boxes for their homes because they didn’t actually play any music. Why get more if you have no idea what they even sound like? The patch fixed them.

So what is the problem? The Summer Festival ended last weekend! In the day since the patch went live the forums have been lit up with angry posts who “would have” done things if only they’d known. While altering the horse’s blanket colors was a surprise, I was fully expecting the music boxes and other issues to be fixed. A little sooner, perhaps, but I was expecting it nonetheless. Guess I’m just weird like that…

Patience announced yesterday that the Summer Festival was returning until September 1, so if you want music boxes, the festival horse, more Inn League reputation… now’s your chance.

  1. No matter how much I pick on LOTRO, the Developers and community is top notch.
Some Devs could learn from these guys and Mythic (Funcom rings a bell)

Now, I hope they are listening to other feedback about LOTRO, and MoM is incredible!
